There are very few moments in life when you can experience absolute clarity, but zip lining over a Costa Rican rainforest was definitely one of them. Being harnessed into an elaborate system of pulleys, lines, and platforms expertly woven in between the árboles (trees) was nervewracking to say the least, but it was more than worth it. The whole adventure was about two hours and included 12 zip lines, including a special Tarzan swing! Thankfully, we had an amazing lunch right when we were done, providing us with sustenance after our great workout.
In the afternoon we visited a primary school and painted their fence and outside roof. Although the kids were not there (school was off for Good Friday), it was still so interesting talking with the local workers in their native language. They were so thankful for our help and presented us with a certificate. As a gift, they gave us the fruit of the cashew that we are trying tonight at dinner. We then went to the town of Fortuna and did a little shopping. We also got to watch their Good Friday procession, which is a special cultural experience!
